Many of you found this ministry through my personal testimony of supernatural healing from debilitating back issues. While I love sharing my story, what I love even more is teaching on divine healing, because I want you to have your own testimonies of supernatural recovery and how God honored His Word in your body.
Today, I want to talk about a powerful truth: healing is past tense. This isn't just a theological concept; it's a foundational principle for how we appropriate and walk in the healing Jesus already paid for with His life. He wants us to be well!
"By His Stripes, We Were Healed"
Let's dive straight into 1 Peter 2:24: "By his stripes, we were healed."
Think about that word: "were." It's past tense. This isn't a future promise; it's a declared fact. Peter, writing in the New Testament after Jesus' earthly ministry, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, understood this profoundly. Jesus had already defeated the devil, upended sickness from regions and people's bodies, and made a way for our healing.
This means you were healed. You're not going to be healed. It's not a future event that depends on you doing enough fasting, praying, giving, or listening to sermons. It's already done. The price has been paid.
Tapping into an Available Source
If healing is already done, why do we still experience sickness? And how do we "stand" for healing if it's already paid for?
Think about it like this: You use gas for your car, or electricity for an EV. When your fuel or battery runs low, you don't create gas or electricity; you go to a gas station or charging station where the source is already available. You simply tap into what's already there to meet your need.
It's the same with divine healing. When you have a need for healing, you can tap into what you need because the source isn't something that needs to be made or found—it's already been made available through Jesus Christ. God has left us an unlimited supply of healing power, ready to be accessed.
How to Tap In: Faith is Voice-Activated
So, how do you tap into this available healing power? You tap in by faith. And the process of tapping in by faith is clearly outlined in Mark 11:22-24.
Jesus, after cursing a fig tree that withered from the roots, tells His disciples, "Have faith in God. For I tell you that if you were to speak to this mountain and command it to be removed and you don't doubt it in your heart, it shall do what you've said. It has to obey you."
Faith is an unshakable trust in God's inability to fail. It means there's no way anything God said can fail. Just as "Light be" brought light that always lasts, what God has declared about your healing always lasts.
Jesus didn't just believe the fig tree should die; He spoke to it. This is key: faith is voice-activated. You believe with your heart, and then you say with your mouth. What you speak is incredibly important. People often believe many things but fail to vocalize them.
If you believe in your heart that God's Word can't fail, and that Jesus already paid the price for your healing, then you must say it! You don't ask for healing; you command healing to manifest.
Three Ways to Tap into Divine Healing
Here are three practical ways you can start tapping into Christ's divine healing power:
Believe it and Speak it (Mark 11:22-24).
Get to the point where you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus wants you well. If you struggle with this, that's okay. Start by confessing your unbelief to God and commit to building your faith.
Immerse yourself in the Word: Read scriptures on healing, listen to healing messages from strong teachers (like Jerry Savelle, Jonathan Shuttlesworth, or messages on our channel).
When you reach that point of knowing, you'll naturally start to speak what you believe. Just as an American confidently asserts their right to free speech, you'll confidently declare your right to be healed.
Fast if You Must.
Important Disclaimer: Always consult your doctor before beginning any fast, especially if you have underlying medical conditions. Your health is paramount.
Fasting doesn't provoke God to heal you (He's already done it!). Instead, it helps you bring your body into submission to your spirit.
If you find yourself constantly talking about your symptoms and conditions more than Christ's healing power, it might be time to fast.
Start small: skip one meal and dedicate that time to prayer. Gradually increase to a full day, or even a water fast if you feel led and your doctor approves. The goal is to bring your mind, will, and emotions (your soul) into alignment with your spirit, allowing your renewed spirit to take charge of your body.
Watch Your Confession (Stop Negative Confessions).
Nothing gets past the gate of your mouth without your permission. What you say matters.
Just as it's crucial to confess what you want (positive confessions based on God's Word), it's equally important to stop confessing what you don't want.
Negative confessions can give Satan ammunition against you, allowing him access to your life. For example, if you say, "I know I've been standing for healing, but I'm still feeling unwell," you're speaking against what you believe for.
Your words are powerful. You are the prophet of your own life, and your words take precedence. As Jesus said, every man will give an account for his words. Make sure your words are aligning with God's will for your healing.
Your Words Matter Most
I remember a story my mentor Dr. Jerry Savelle use to share about his grandfather. He kept saying, "I just want to live until I see you graduate high school," despite others praying for him to live longer. Brother Jerry graduated, and within days, his grandfather passed.
Why? Because his words took precedence.
Even with strong prayer partners, your words are the ones that matter most in the eyes of God for your own life.
Receive Your Healing Now!
I pray right now for every person reading this message:
"Father, in Jesus' name, I thank you for 1 Peter 2:24: 'By the stripes of Jesus, we were healed.' Lord, any person reading this right now who has been struggling with long-standing issues, illnesses, or sicknesses, I curse you in Jesus' name. You are not allowed to remain in every place hearing this message right now. You cannot stay where you are in Jesus' name!
I command backs to be healed, minds to be cleansed right now! I command crippled legs that have not been able to stand on their own: receive power and strength right now in Jesus' name! Satan, you are bound from operating against those who are hearing this message. I forbid your action in their lives any further in the name of Jesus!
I thank you, Lord, and I loose Your healing power to go to work. Restore these people from the top of their head to the bottom of their feet, everywhere in between. And for anyone battling obsessive-compulsive disorder, I curse that obsessive-compulsive disorder! Thank you, Lord, You said Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light, that You relieve us of our anxieties and our infirmities. I bind that spirit that would be operating in their life right now, and I loose the power of a sound mind to operate in them right now. The mind of Christ takes precedence over you. Experience peace you haven't had in the last few years!
I thank you, Father, that by way of the anointing in the name of Jesus, every yoke of bondage in any of these people's lives is destroyed right now in Jesus' mighty name! So Lord, thank you for their freedom. Thank you that 'who the Son sets free is free indeed.' And I give you all the praise, Lord, for all the miracles that are going to come out of this message, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen."
Everything God has done for you is already done. Don't wait another day, another minute, or another second for your healing. It's yours. It belongs to you! Wrench your body out of the hands of the enemy right now and live life to the fullest!
